My fellow acting/family friend Steve Cloyes sent me an email about this one. IT's an international film fest in which you sign up for an international city (e.g. San Francisco) and if you are accepted you and your filming crew show up and they give you 48 hours to write, film, edit, and finish your movie. In order to keep things fair they give you a genre, character type, and a quote that has to appear in the film. All movies are shown ina theater in your town.
I believe the winner of each city gets a copy of Avid and then the winner out of the top placing films from each international city gets an Avid editing system. Those were this years prizes anyway.
The film fest started today. Unfortunately it was too late for AMH to sign up, but it's on my calendar for next year.

These festivals have always intrigued me, but I havent done much research on them.
Are the filmmakers required to provide all their own equipment and funding?
Do competitors generally write the scripts beforehand so they already have an idea and a vision?
Get back with answers and more info, but mostly if your interest in this type of festival still exists.
